Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Family Support Links
At North Waltham Primary School, we are proud to be a happy, inclusive village school where every child is supported to thrive. Our commitment to providing a nurturing and high-quality learning environment ensures that all pupils, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), are valued, understood, and encouraged to reach their full potential.
As highlighted in our most recent Ofsted report (September 2021):
"Pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities receive skilled support, including carefully matched learning activities and extra help, so they make strong progress."
Our approach to SEND is rooted in strong relationships, high expectations, and a tailored curriculum. Teachers and staff are dedicated to understanding each child’s unique needs, offering personalised support and interventions to ensure they flourish both academically and personally. We also work in close partnership with parents, carers, and external professionals to provide a holistic approach to learning and development.
By fostering a supportive, inclusive, and safe environment, we help pupils grow in confidence and equip them with the skills and resilience needed for their future success. At North Waltham, every child matters, and no one is left behind.
Further details of our SEND provision can be found here:
Our SEND provision is guided by the SEND Code of Practice (2014). The following guide explains how the system that supports children and young people with special educational needs and disability (SEND) works: Special educational needs and disabilities: a guide for parents and carers
